Airplus, the business travel payment specialist, is pilot testing a mobile wallet solution capable of generating virtual card numbers which consumers can use to pay for travel expenses.
Moreover, the card would enable a single use virtual MasterCard number to be issued to consumers. It would charge for airline, hotels or other locations which do not accept Airplus. Transaction and use limits for the card can be set by travel managers ensuring that funds are not misused.
SAP announced in July 2012 that it is working with Airplus to offer NFC mobile payment facilities to business travellers.
