dramatic changes in retail space
Shopzilla, the Los Angeles-based website that matches buyers with retailers, has acquired San Francisco-based Zappli in an undisclosed deal. Shopzilla will use Zappli’s payment solutions, such as ‘instaBuy‘, which is a two step checkout for mobile.
As part of the deal all of Zappli’s staff will join Shopzilla, but will remain based in San Francisco. Shopzilla intends to expand Zappli’s workforce substantially.
“Shopzilla has always been committed to being at the forefront of online shopping, connecting millions of consumers with thousands of its ecommerce partners for great shopping experiences,” commented Bill Glass, CEO of Shopzilla, Inc. “The retail industry is experiencing some of the most dramatic changes in consumer behavior in its history. By acquiring Zappli, an innovative player in mobile-centric commerce, Shopzilla will accelerate its ability to offer a highly satisfying and seamless shopping experience across all digital devices.”
