New mobile wallet
PaymentEye were at the Excel Arena in London for PayExpo 2013 last month. There were a host of exhibitors displaying their latest innovative platforms and solutions. A number of seminars and discussions on hot topics such as big data and mobile payments ensured an insightful experience for all attendees.
In today’s exclusive video, PaymentEye caught up with Siemen’s Head of Sales for Mobile Payments, Robert Albrecht to discuss the company’s latest product offerings. Moreover, Robert gives his take on the digitisation of the wallet and the current mobile payments space. Siemen’s WalletXpress solution which aggregates all aspects of traditional payments onto the mobile phone whilst adding features such as direct carrier billing.
“Mobile payments is certainly the hot topic in the market. The market is huge and Siemens wants to be a part of it. I think true mobile payments will be most successful in the micro online payments industry for cases where you already have your phone in hand. This relates to paying for a travel ticket or in-app purchases. The true differentiator will be connecting it with value-added services such as bonification” Robert said.
