Processed EUR95m
Realex Payments processed a record amount of transactions during Cyber Monday, December 2nd. The company processed payments valued in excess of EUR105m, with transactions peaking between 10 a.m. and midday.
The traditional online sales bonanza day in the US, ‘Black Friday’, which this year fell on November 29th, was also a busy day for Realex Payments, with EUR95 million being processed by the company.
Colm Lyon, Realex Payments founder and CEO said “Traditionally the first Monday in December, Cyber Monday sees online sales soar and it didn’t disappoint this year. Our volumes peaked between 10 a.m. and midday and we’re continuing to see high volumes go through our systems. What’s interesting to note is that the busiest day for us in 2012 was Monday, December 10th when we processed €80 million, so we may yet see higher volumes over the next week.”
