Nok Nok Labs, a provider of modern authentication and founding member of the FIDO Alliance, has announced that Samsung and PayPal have selected the company’s NNL S3 Authentication Suite to enable the new mobile payment system.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone will enable seamless and secure mobile payments via an integrated Fingerprint Sensor (FPS). The S3 Suite from Nok Nok Labs will enable both Samsung and PayPal to provide a secure mobile shopping experience, leveraging the emerging FIDO standards.
“This is a tremendous opportunity to collaborate with Samsung and PayPal to help drive secure mobile payments around the globe,” said Phillip Dunkelberger, President & CEO, Nok Nok Labs. “By providing the NNL FIDO Ready solution, we are bringing the vision of the FIDO Alliance on a global scale, and at the same time providing PayPal, Samsung and their customers with an easy-to-use and more secure solution.”
“Combining FIDO Ready authentication with the new biometric security feature on the Galaxy S5 means users will no longer need to type passwords or login details when they shop,” said Hill Ferguson, Chief Product Officer, PayPal. “Users of the Samsung Galaxy S5 can now benefit from a uniquely secure and seamless online, mobile and in-store shopping experience across the millions of merchants that accept our trusted PayPal service – this means that consumers don’t need to sacrifice convenience to increase security.”
