Consumers will be able to charge their bus tickets to their mobile bill thanks to a new partnership between Corethree, an m-ticketing technology firm, and Boku, a direct carrier-billing based mobile payments provider.
With the addition of Boku’s payment solution, consumers gain the ability to charge bus ticket purchases directly to their mobile phone bill from within a mobile app built by Corethree, without the need for a credit or debit card. Consumers simply select Mobile as their payment method of choice. The charge appears on the consumer’s bill or is deducted from their prepaid balance using Boku’s e-Money solution.
“Working with Corethree is a great alignment for both companies and takes mobile payments into another new territory, bringing the convenience of mobile payments to ticketing systems,” says Jon Prideaux, CEO Boku. “Corethree has a breadth of experience in this arena that makes for an outstanding partnership, bringing two diverse types of technology together into an outstanding consumer offering.”
The two companies will work together on a number of solutions for clients in the m-ticketing area as well as looking at opportunities to expand the technology further into new areas. The initial implementation will focus on adding Boku’s mobile payment method to Corethree’s turnkey mobile solution, MoBus.
