CaixaBank and Global Payments are teaming up to host FinAppsParty, an interactive wearable financial app hackathon.
The event, to be held simultaneously in Atlanta and Barcelona on October 24th and 25th, will see mobile payments app developers, designers, programmers and creatives come together to compete in teams of one to four over a 24 hour period.
Judges will be looking for payments applications for wearable payments devices that demonstrate an innovative approach to functionality, design and usability for both consumers and merchants. The three best solutions from each location will be selected as winners, each receiving cash prizes.
CaixaBank launched the first FinAppsParty in Barcelona in 2011 and the event has occurred annually ever since. Last year’s event saw 150 app developers competing across 48 teams. Previous winning projects include apps for connecting users of near-field communication (NFC) technology, business geolocation and payment systems via social networks.
The Atlanta FinApps Party begins at 6:00pm US ET at the Atlanta Tech Village. Click here to register find out more.
The Barcelona event will begin at 5:30pm CEST at the Palo Alto Foundation. Further details for this event can be found here.
