Square is rolling out its mobile application worldwide, allowing retailers to track sales, inventories and other data on smartphones and tablets.
The Square Register software is available as an app for iOS and Google Android. Already utilized by millions of US businesses, the app gives any business a complete, cloud-based point-of-sale solution to replace clunky cash register hardware.
“The cash register was invented to solve the basic pain points of running a business, like recording sales,” said Square CEO Jack Dorsey. “Our Register empowers sellers to drill into their business with sophisticated reporting tools to run and grow their business.”
Square is better known for its credit card readers which plug into an iPad or mobile phone, allowing retailers to take card payments from the mobile device. The company, however, has yet to make these readers available outside the US, Canada and Japan.
Square Register is now available worldwide in English, Spanish, French, and Japanese, and supports 130 internationally recognized currencies, the company said.
