Earthport appoints new president of European operations

Cross-border payments service provider Earthport has appointed web entrepreneur and banker Daniel Marovitz as president of its European operations.

Daniel is responsible for the company’s European commercial operations, reporting to Hank Uberoi, Earthport’s CEO, effective immediately.

Most recently, he was CEO of Faculty of 1000, a software and data publisher serving the biomedical world. Prior to that he was CEO of buzzumi, a start-up technology company he founded in 2011.

Daniel has also had leadership roles in e-commerce, transaction banking, media and enterprise software. He spent eleven years in Deutsche Bank, more recently as a managing director and global head of product management of the Global Transaction Bank. He began at Deutsche Bank as head of the internet division and then went on to serve as chief information officer of the investment bank.

Daniel is a founding member of SWIFT’s FinTech innovation initiative, Innotribe.

“We’re delighted to bring Daniel’s experience, innovative know-how and leadership to strengthen Earthport’s capabilities in driving our strategy further in Europe,” said Hank Uberoi.

Daniel is the latest in a string of senior leadership team appointments at Earthport.
