Over 500,000 Android users will be able to digitally cash cheques through Barclays imaging application, with the service also being made available to iPad customers.
Up until now Barclays customers have only been able to use the software on their iPhones, depositing £750,000 in the past 12 months. Customers can deposit a maximum of £500 using the payment tool.
