MasterCard has made changes to its leadership setup in Asia Pacific, with former president Matthew Driver gaining the role of group executive, while a new role has been created to improve payment infrastructure in the region.
Driver, who served as president of Southeast Asia for over 13 years, now steps into the role of group executive, Global Products and Solutions for Asia Pacific. Driver will be focusing on creating payment solutions for governments, merchants and consumers across the region.
Partnering with MasterCard’s global and regional management teams, Driver will work towards creating electronic payment solutions that will one day eliminate the use of cash within Asia Pacific.
Driver replaces T.V. Seshadri, who has now been appointed as head of Business Process Simplification, Asia Pacific. This is a completely new role created by the card giants, who have given Seshardi the task of improving payment collaboration within across the territory.
Seshadri has worked within Asia Pacific for over 18 years, representing MasterCard in a number of management roles.
MasterCard has been growing its presence within the Asia Pacific region recently, as the card giants recently created a partnership with Wirecard and mobile services company M1, creating a mPOS solution for merchants in Singapore.
