Spain gains mPOS device through SetPay and payworks deal

Spanish payment solution provider SetPay has chosen mPOS developer payworks to release its new debit and credit card device, allowing merchants and SME owners to accept EMV payments instantly.

The partnership allows SetPay to offer its network of small business owners an mPOS device powered by payworks’ card acceptance platform.

Business owners will be able to use a mobile application on both iOS and Android devices in order to accept EMV card payments. The smartphone application is paired with a Bluetooth enabled Chip-and-Pin card reader.

‘‘The payworks platform is second to none and together with the team we will be working on exciting new features on top of our core payment solution in the coming months, fully leveraging the potential of digital technology at the Point of Sale,’’ commented David Pombar, CEO of SetPay.

The applied EMV Chip & PIN solution guarantees a maximum level of security when transacting the payment.

‘‘Our bet is on innovation and we are looking forward to launching unprecedented ways of merchant-customer interaction taking mPOS to the next level,’’ continued Pombar.
