With a rising number of UK merchants accepting cashless payments, EVO Payments International, one of North America’s largest card acquirers, has partnered with British merchant services firm Handepay.
Improving merchant payments
This new sales partnership will allow new Handepay UK customers (excluding Northern Ireland) to take advantage of EVO’s card processing solutions.
From October 2015, Handepay retailers will be able to use EVO’s payment platform to help expand their business, with merchants able to make payments via a Handeypay terminal, over the phone and online.
‘‘We are excited to partner with Handepay in this market. Their knowledge of merchant services for independent businesses and sales strategies will supplement our existing relationships in the region,’’ said Darren Wilson, EVO’s international president.
This is not the first time that EVO has branched out to areas in Western Europe. Last year Payment Eye brought to you the news that EVO and the Bank of Ireland entered into a similar partnership, giving thousands of Irish merchants the chance to upscale their business.
Handepay share EVO’s sentiments, with Andy Peake, managing director of Handepay stating that his firm ‘‘are excited to work with an industry leader like EVO Payments International and look forward to providing EVO’s robust merchant acquiring solutions in the UK market.’’
