Omanye Money mandated to raise money for the Ghana Black Stars

Omanye Money has been mandated by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to use its Transfer and Payment platform to raise money to support the preparation and participation of the Black Stars in the 2014 FIFA world cup in Brazil.

Omanye Money, a UK based Payment Institution registered with the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), has been mandated by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to run a donation campaign to raise money to support the Ghana national team, the Black Stars’ preparation and participation in the 2014 FIFA world cup in Brazil.

The campaign is dubbed: One 4 da Black Stars and the target amount is GBP1m.  The aim of the campaign is to mobilize one million supporters, across the world, to each donate, at least, GBP1.00 or its equivalent in other currencies. It is as much about mobilizing the fans, to cheer for the team, as it is about raising funds to support the teams’ preparation and participation in the 2014 FIFA world cup in Brazil. The media launch is scheduled for the 7th of December, a day after the world cup draw in Brazil.

Fans, well-wishers and sympathizers all over the world can now show their support by going to: the donation site, select an amount to donate and use their Omanye account to pay. If they don’t have an Omanye account, they can open one by simply texting ‘signup’ to, or calling, +442033222695 and pressing ‘3’ on the dial pad. Topping up the account is easy.  Login and, from the account menu, select ‘top up e-account’ and choose your preferred top up option.

Every donation is an entry for a draw and donors stand the chance of winning Flight and World cup match tickets, dinner dates with Black Stars players, Coach, GFA officials, attending training sessions etc. To win an autographed Black Stars replica Jersey, go to: facebook.com/omanyemoney, click on the sweepstakes app, fill in the fields and submit. Every donor’s name will be displayed on a plague at the GFA headquarters in Accra. Monthly draws run from now till the end of 2014 FIFA world cup.

The chairman and founder of Omanye, Sammy Crabbe stated that: “We are happy to announce our new relationship with the Black Stars. We’re fulfilling our vision of helping to usher Africa into the Global Economic Arena to give true meaning to globalization.  We need to move towards using the Ghana national team’s brand to generate funding to, among other things, feed, kit and give the players some fun. This is new in this part of the world and thanks to the Omanye Money Platform; national and local football teams in less developed countries can now develop their franchise’’.
