Dear Subscriber,

Last night we attended the FinTech Innovation Awards that sought to recognise some of the best companies in the industry. It was a wonderful night with standouts including Dan Ariely, professor of Psychology at Duke University, discussing the psychology of payments through some fascinating anecdotes. Winners included the Norwegian company Zwipe winning the best Innovation in Payments award, Cashless on the Catwalk at London Fashion Week by The 10 Group and Visa Europe Collab winning Marketing Campaign of the Year and the biggest winner of the night, ClearScore winning both, FinTech Startup of the Year and FinTech innovation of the Year.

Elsewhere, a recent report says that cashless transactions at European festivals could hit 7 million this year as more people and organisers are starting to see the benefits of the technology such as speed of transactions and improved efficiency.

Finally, we speak to Copenhagen startup, Pleo, which wants to re-invent the company card.

Enjoy!
