Monitise has had a significant confidence boost after Visa reduced its stake in the mobile payments company. Santander, Telefónica and MasterCard have agreed to invest a combined £49.2 million to accelerate the roll-out of Monitise’s platform in Mobile Money ecosystem. The investment proceeds will be used for business development activities and further acceleration of investment in the Group’s technology and working capital – ultimately increasing momentum for the on-boarding of partners and end-user adoption.
